The Fast 800 Recipe Book – One Year On

the fast 800 recipe bookIt’s hard to believe that more than a year has passed since the publication of the Fast 800 Recipe Book.

I loved working on the book alongside Dr Clare Bailey and it’s been amazing to see it become such a resounding success.

Every day I hear stories of how people are conquering their weight loss goals with the help of the Fast800, following our Mediterranean style recipes alongside Dr Michael Mosley’s best-selling plan.

Since the launch of the book the Test Kitchen has been as busy as ever and despite the recent disruption to everyday life, we’re starting to feel a hint of almost normal again.

The Test Kitchen garden became a true saviour during the ‘stay home’ period, a quiet place to retreat from the ‘day in, day in’ monotony of lockdown. And thanks to the mostly favourable weather and some green fingered graft, we’ve been blessed with an abundant crop of fruit and vegetables – luckily there is always plenty for everyone to take home too.

What have you been cooking during lockdown? I love to see pictures of your creations from my recipe books. My Weight Loss Support Group on Facebook is a great place to share them. I’ll be checking in on a regular basis, posting new recipes and encouraging everyone to share their stories and snaps of their favourite dishes!

Using a few ingredients you can create an easy war Using a few ingredients you can create an easy warm salad that's just right for this in-between weather. Toss chickpeas, cubes of squash and cauliflower with a little olive oil and spices (I use a combination of cumin, coriander and chilli), scatter onto a tray and bake in a hot oven until lightly roasted. Toss with baby spinach and roasted peppers from a jar, before drizzling with a simple yoghurt dressing.

I love making this quick yoghurt pancake recipe fr I love making this quick yoghurt pancake recipe from my book ‘Quick and Easy’ because I don't need any scales – just a small yoghurt pot for all my measuring. They’re deliciously light and very simple to make – the key is to have your pan nice and hot before adding the batter. (You can swipe for the recipe – I’ve included the weights and measures in case you are using a larger 500g pot of yoghurt.)
